Wedding Day Photography @ Rosewood Hong Kong - Trina and Mario

Every wedding is different and unique. Weddings are also full of surprises, some a little more than others. Long-time sweethearts Trina and Mario got married in Rosewood, Hong Kong, and their wedding also had a wonderful surprise for everyone present. So, let’s take you through their special day.

A simple and meaningful rosewood wedding

Trina and Mario had a simple yet exquisite wedding. If you also want to have a similar wedding, I advise avoiding getting caught up in the latest wedding trends. However, “simple” does not go well with a wedding, especially if you have a traditional wedding. A conventional wedding with a wedding dress, wedding cake, bridesmaids, and a reception is often far from simple. However, what you can do is make it more meaningful. The restriction policy means that there are fewer guests at weddings now. However, it also means that you invite only those with whom you share a special bond and who have a real connection with you. Yes, you may want to have a lavish wedding, but it is also possible to have a wedding of your dreams with a small, intimate wedding. Venues like Rosewood Hong Kong are full of unexpected spaces, perfect for smaller celebrations. Some of these spaces make excellent backdrops for wedding photography. Galleries, courtyards, and theatres sometimes turn into superb spots for wedding photographs. Keeping things simple and meaningful is spending your time, energy, and budget on things that truly mean the world to you. Spending money on things you will not think twice about after your wedding day does not make sense. Your wedding is the most special day of your life. It is your big day, and it should be all about love. Whether you have a big or small wedding, focus on making it meaningful for your partner and yourself while creating a comfortable experience for your guests. Relax and enjoy your day. You deserve it.

The bride and groom

Trina was a glowing bride, and her radiant smile accentuated her beauty. Her infectious smile made everyone around her smile, including me. Her happiness knew no bounds while she was preparing for her big day. And her joy rubbed on to her friends and bridesmaids, who were all smiles, getting her ready for her big day. Trina chose a flowy, white lace gown as her wedding dress, making her look like a dream. Her hair was done in soft, beachy waves, adding elegance to her look. The flower details on her hair tie together the entire look, making her look like the stunning bride she is. When posing for the photographs, I thought Trina’s natural beauty and elegance were better in candid shots. I captured her beautiful smile at various times- while getting ready, talking to her friends, hugging her loved ones, and more. However, as she was moments away from getting married to the love of her life, Trina could not hold back tears. It was an extraordinary and emotional day for her, and a few tears of joy are allowed! The groom, Mario, looked dapper in a grey suit and a matching tie. He looked super confident and seemed to enjoy every bit of the day. His eyes shone whenever he looked at his lady love, and I was able to capture them in my photographs.

The ceremony

Trina and Mario had an intimate ceremony with just a handful of invitees. They used both for their wedding since Rosewood offers indoor and outdoor options. The wedding ceremony was officiated outdoors, while the party happened indoors. As the happy couple exited the aisle, the guests served rice. Since rice symbolizes prosperity, the guests wished the couple a fruitful and prosperous life. The bride carried a perfect bouquet, white with a touch of blush. Of course, Mario wore a boutonniere that matched Trina’s bouquet.

The venue

Trina and Mario married at Rosewood, Hong Kong, a perfect location for dream weddings. Rosewood wedding venue has eleven distinct venues spread across a 3,200 square meter area. These include the Lawn, the Grand Ballroom, the Pavillion Hall, the Orangery, and more. Whether you want an indoor or outdoor wedding, Rosewood offers both options. The spacious venue offers a warm ambience for couples who wish to get married in an intimate but luxurious setting. What does your dream wedding look like? Do you want a small wedding with family and close friends? Or do you want a big fat wedding? Whatever it is, the Rosewood wedding venue can accommodate weddings of all sizes, whether you have a handful of guests or hundreds of them.

The surprise

There was an exceptional guest at the wedding, which took everyone by surprise. It was Trina and Mario’s soon-to-be-born baby. The couple announced their pregnancy at the wedding, holding up ultrasounds of their baby. Wedding planning can be stressful, and planning one while pregnant can be incredibly stressful. So, hats off to Trina and Mario for planning such a special event while pregnant, which is something else. The couple's happiness doubled, first because they married the love of their lives and second because they became proud parents soon after. As a professional wedding photographer, I would like to share some advice about planning a wedding. Whether you are pregnant or not, organizing is critical to ensuring everything goes smoothly on your big day. Consider having a checklist and a master schedule with timelines and deadlines for everything that needs to get done at your wedding. Being organized reduces stress and gives you greater control over how things go on your special day. If you feel that you cannot control everything, you should consider hiring a wedding planner. Having someone else manage your wedding planning can help you focus on other vital things.

Wedding portrait photoshoot

I took several photos of the couple together after becoming husband and wife. I prefer this wedding time because it allows me to interact with the couple. I took a few portraits of Trina and Mario while they enjoyed some quiet, uninterrupted moments with each other. As they gazed lovingly into each other’s eyes, wrapping their arms around and kissing, the sky changed vivid colours, bearing testimony to their love. The way the sky changed from blue to grey during the photoshoot added more depth to the overall photographs. The best thing about a small wedding is that they lend themselves to tender moments. They also feel more at ease, which is exactly the vibe that Trina and Mario had at their wedding. Trina and Mario looked very poised and relaxed while taking their portraits. Different people have different expectations of wedding photography. Some like it candidly, capturing the various memorable moments in the day. For others they want their photographs to follow a specific theme. The bride, groom, and sometimes even the guests pose accordingly to keep up with the theme. The venue, décor, and menu selection also follow the same theme. It is always better to decide beforehand what kind of look and feel you want for your wedding photography. Trina and Mario wanted a natural, candid look for their wedding photos, and I am happy I could do that.

The banquet

The vibe at the wedding party indoors was quite fun and cheerful. The toast was made to the happy couple, and everyone enjoyed the moment. The wedding speeches shared by the best man and other guests were a lot of fun. As toast was made, guests clinked flutes with wine and champagne. The speeches were hilarious and took everyone down memory lane, giving a little insight into what Trina and Mario are like in real life. Like their pictures, they are also a ton of fun in real life. Soon, it was time to cut the wedding cake. The two-tier cake with roses on it was classic with a whimsical twist. The couple shared a kiss before they cut the cake together. It was an intimate, small wedding, but it was filled with heartfelt moments and touches of humour. Trina and Mario did not have a very hard-set theme. They went naturally and fundamentally and mostly used white, grey, pink, beige, and blue.
